Day 1-They flew in on Saturday evening, and I got to the terminal JUST as they were coming off the plane! OMG- I felt so giddy, and we all ran and did big hugs!!! We decided the first thing we would go and do was grab dinner- Chicago Style. We took them to our fave, Lou Malnatti's, for some deep dish pizza. Needless to say, they were in awe- and absolutely loved it!! We got sidewalk seating, so they thought it was pretty cool to be smack dab in the middle of highrises and eating dinner. The EL (elevated train) runs right by this place too, which they thought wwas cool too...but also noisy :)
We headed home after dinner, and they could not believe the view from our place. We stayed up late chatting and catching up. We have missed them so much!!!
Day 2- We began the day with catching the bus over to the Field Musuem, which is kind of like a blend between a Science and History museum. We saw some pretty cool exhibits, including this one on the World's Worst Natural Disasters, as well as the largest T-rex dinosaur, "Sue".
Alex & Courtney standing in front of Sue's skull...they had to use a fake one on the large replica because it weighed over 400 pounds!!!!

Courtney made a friend!

Me and the sibs!

Brad trying on a new look...

We finished our afternoon/evening heading over to the Taste of Chicago, the largest outdoor festival held all year in Chicago. It lived up to its reputation. There were food vendors as far as the eye could see, selling portions of popular items off of their menus. Everyone filled their bellies and really had a great time. We even caught a free concert of Josh Kelley, who was really good live!
