The word is out! Part II

The finale to breaking our news was definitely on the Saturday following Christmas, at the annual Family Christmas Party, which was held at Ken & Leslie's this year.

We actually spent the beginning of the day visiting with our best friends, Brian and Marissa Ackerman and kiddos. We have not seen them as a family since last summer, and with little ones, that is an eternity!! It was so great, even though the time was very limited.

We left there and headed down to the party (of course, after stopping off and getting Chick-fil-A!!! We don't have any in the Midwest, so it is a must when we are home!)
Leslie was the organizer for our plan on breaking the news. The goal was to get everyone in the basement, where most hang out anyway, and I was going to tell some of the gals to get together for a picture for my blog. Well, for one thing, when we get there, everyone was ready to chow down, which the food is always in the dining room on the main level. Hmm... then, it was ABNORMALLY warm that day, and the basement was extremely overheated with all of the people, so everyone wanted to be out back and stay cool. Finally, after much urging, we got the group together. I stood in the back, as always, because I am several heads taller than most in my family. So, Brad was taking the picture, and to get everyone ready, this is what he said.
"OK... 1, 2, 3, say Cindy's Pregnant!!"
This is what we got on the 1st take...

From this pic, you can see who got it right away, and who was in, shall we say, shock?
(Pictured: 1st row seated from left, Val holding Adyson, Michele Drew, Sierra Drew, Michelle Cox, Nannie, and Janice Hugh (Sandy's mom); Back Row-Carissa, Pam, and Me)
It didn't take long though!!!

Brenda had not arrived before we staged the photo op, so we actually recreated the moment, which was pretty funny! Also, on the original take, one of the people I had not wanted to miss it was Christina, who had run upstairs to gather more people for the pic. She was able to be part of the 2nd time!!! Amber is sitting on her lap.
Round 2...

Everyone was so ecstatic, and once again, the reactions were TOTALLY worth the wait. Poor Val and Michelle Drew... they cried more than when I found out I was pregnant! We are three peas in a pod in that respect- the emotional ones in the family!
